Job summary

HTG-UK is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) based in Clacton-on-Sea to join our field-based team delivering safe, compassionate transport to patients. You will drive patients to appointments, assist with mobility, and maintain clear communication with patients, families and healthcare staff while upholding dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• DBS check on onboarding and continuing safeguarding training.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Satisfactory employment and character references.
• Satisfactory medical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Patient Transport & Care - Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support, and compassionate care throughout their journey.
• Assisting with Mobility - Helping patients with mobility needs, including safe lifting, use of specialist equipment, and transferring patients to and from vehicles or their homes.
• Communication & Compassion - Communicating clearly and kindly with patients, families, and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity, respect, and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Vehicle Checks & Basic Administration - Carrying out daily vehicle checks, keeping all equipment clean and ready in line with Infection Prevention and Control procedures, and ensuring that any incidents and/or journey details are accurately recorded as required.
