Job description

Pay Rate: £30,771

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: (10 hour shifts with 1 hour break) Different shift Patterns

13 x 05:00-15:00, 10 x 08:00-18:00, 10 x 10:00-20:00

The roles are rotational: (Monday to Friday one week and one day off during the week, and working the Sunday)

Location: Enfield, North London (EN3 4NQ)

Did you know that DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, also provides patient transport services? Our non-urgent ambulance service transports patients between hospitals, care homes and clinics, for medical appointments and treatment.

As an Ambulance Care Assistant, successful candidates will have a calm and caring nature, and be a safe and confident driver.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
  • Transporting non-emergency patients to and from hospitals, clinics or other healthcare facilities
  • Working as a single or two-person crew, responsible for either driving the ambulance or supporting the travelling patient
  • Regular heavy-lifting, using equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and carry chairs
  • Assisting patients in and out of the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals and other staff to ensure a high level of patient care
  • Completing patient documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintaining the ambulance equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • A caring and understanding nature, with a friendly manner
  • Previous care-giving experience would be advantageous
  • The ability to work in a role that requires regular heavy-lifting of patients, as well as exposure to bodily fluids (including urine, faeces, vomit and blood)
  • A calm and considerate driver with good knowledge of UK road signs and the Highway Code
  • You must pass a drug and alcohol test
  • You must provide your last 5 years of address history
  • You must provide your full employment history and CV (starting from day 1 of employment)
