The role involves driving and assisting as part of a crew, patients with different requirements based on their mobility classification.
  • Your days will be spent speaking to and supporting patients and medical staff so the hospital can run smoothly, freeing up clinical time to provide support.

  • Our services in Wales are monitored by the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust and we apply the same standards to our service delivery across the whole of the UK. Our fleet and equipment are comparable with those deployed by NHS services.

We're a close-knit team united by one goal - to make every moment matter to our services users when they need us most.

The role of Ambulance Care Assistant might be for you if you have:

  • A full driving licence which allows you to operate a manual transmission vehicle (please note that, due to vehicle insurance policy requirements, applicants must have held their licence for a minimum of two full years).
  • Being very active with lifting and long periods of standing.
  • You can bring your strong customer service or patient caring skills to the British Red Cross.
