Job summary

Anderson Knight is partnering with our client to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Paisley. The role offers exposure to a broad range of accounting duties within a busy finance team, supporting day-to-day financial operations and development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be part-qualified or actively studying ACCA/CIMA, with prior experience in similar finance roles, solid month-end understanding, and strong Excel skills with confidence using

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar role.
• Understanding of month-end processes and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage priorities.
• Proactive, takes ownership and communicates well across the business.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and schedules.
• Perform bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments for month-end closes.
• Maintain accurate financial records and correct postings.
• Support preparation of financial reports and MI.
• Assist with budgeting/forecasting as required.
• Support purchase and sales ledgers during busy periods.
• Maintain fixed asset register and year-end processes.
• Identify process improvements and stronger controls.
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects and reporting.
