Job description

The Department of Psychiatry at Eastbourne District General Hospital, East Sussex, is seeking a dedicated, positive, compassionate, and enthusiastic Bank 3 Ward Administrator to join a committed team providing high-quality administrative support to individuals with acute mental health needs on Amberley Ward, an 18-bedded female inpatient ward.

As a Ward Administrator, you will deliver comprehensive administrative services, liaising daily with staff at all levels and maintaining contact with service users and their carers, who may sometimes be distressed or upset. Your responsibilities include ensuring the office environment's effectiveness, maintaining regular audits, and performing general administrative duties.

The ideal candidate will possess a good standard of secondary education, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and a solid understanding of confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential. You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, adaptable, able to work independently, and committed to a person-centered, caring approach. Time management skills are also required.
