A healthcare organization in Eastbourne seeks a Bank 3 Ward Administrator to provide crucial administrative support within an acute mental health setting. The Department of Psychiatry, Eastbourne District General Hospital, East Sussex are looking for committed, positive, compassionate and enthusiastic Bank 3 Ward Administrator to work with a dedicated team of professionals that provide the highest standards of admin support to people with acute mental health needs on Amberley Ward which is an 18-bedded female inpatient ward.
The successful candidate must have a good standard of secondary education, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook along with a good understanding of confidentiality.
Working hours are currently Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00 - 37 1/2 hours per week.
We are building a new hospital in Bexhill to replace our current inpatient services at the Department of Psychiatry. We will transfer to the new facilities when it opens
As a Ward Administrator you will provide a full administrative service, having daily liaison with a wide range of staff at all levels and regular contact with people who use services and their carers, who may at times be distressed or angry. The Ward Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the office environment for the team, which includes keeping up to date with regular auditing and general admin duties.
Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal, communication and admin organisational skills, be enthusiastic, self-motivated, adaptable and be able to work on their own initiative as part of the multidisciplinary team. You must be non-judgmental and have a person-centered approach and above all a real caring attitude and be prepared to make a difference. They will be responsible for their own time management

You must be able to provide a comprehensive range of admin support to the nursing team. Liaising with other Departments and services and to respond effectively to enquires from the general public, service users, referrers and other agencies whilst maintaining excellent communication and relationship skills.
Qualifications/Knowledge
NVQ 3 or equivalent
Good standard of secondary education GCSE at grade C or above
Proven experience of a range of secretarial procedures
