Job Description
We are looking for a Welder to carry out and maintain all welding and fabrication works at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers.
You’ll liaise with the Dry Dock team to ensure fabrication works are integrated into the overall plan and assist with continuous improvement of vessel structures to ensure efficient operation.
You will carry out structural repairs on ramps and assist with in-water repairs under the direction of the Head of Engineering.
You’ll assist with maintenance and repair of floating facilities and manage all welding materials, stores, and equipment within your area of responsibility.
Ensure the use of appropriate materials and equipment for each job, report back to the senior engineering team following internal processes and procedures.
Maintain a safe and professional working environment, including provision of PPE, completion of HSE compliance paperwork, and identifying training needs within the team.
We seek someone with coded welder C/W certification and experience in aluminium fabrication/welding. Proof of welder approvals to BSEN ISO 9609-2:2004 or similar Class Society assessed welding procedures is required.
You should be capable of Mig/Tig welding with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, and hold the necessary certificates for these tasks.
An effective communicator and team player, you should be committed to delivering quality work and able to work flexibly to meet dry docking requirements.
Experience in a shipbuilding/dry docking environment is desirable but not essential.
