Job description

RWS Global is recruiting for event technicians to support the installation, operation, maintenance, and derig of shows and experiences at the Alton Towers Resort, Staffordshire. Contracts run from September 2025 through January 2026.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and all applicable local and international regulations).
  • Support and be a key contact for the technical operation and maintenance of RWS Global events & experiences, including daily power up/down, show operation, fault finding, record keeping, and compliance.
  • Ensure all technical elements are operated and maintained in compliance with health, safety, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Complete compliance paperwork during routine and unplanned operations.
  • React swiftly to system faults, diagnosing and repairing equipment to maintain system reliability.
  • Suggest system improvements and upgrades.
  • Take ownership of control areas, continually striving to innovate and deliver excellent client experiences.
  • Perform installation and strike following industry standards and safety practices, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Review show reports and technical feedback to proactively address issues.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional working environment supporting learning and excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in entertainment technical systems: lighting, audio, video, show control, electronics, effects.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to the industry.
  • Knowledge of ethernet/IP networks and IT protocols.
  • Experience with systems like QSys, Mediamatrix, Medialon, Alcorn McBride, Chroma-Q Vista, Pharos, Hippotizer, 7th Sense Delta, Digico/Yamaha/Allen & Heath mixers.
  • Experience with lighting products, low-voltage systems, and hardware installation techniques.
  • Proficiency with power tools, ladders, heavy machinery, and working at heights, adhering to UK safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid UK driver’s license is desirable but not essential.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable operating heavy equipment and tools.
Salary:

£120/day for non-peak days and £135/day for peak days.
