Remedy Tutors is looking for caring, enthusiastic and experienced tutors to support children and young people across Bromley who require alternative provision or personalised education outside a traditional classroom setting.
As an Alternative Provision Tutor, you'll deliver tailored one-to-one tuition to students who may be out of school, experiencing barriers to mainstream education or requiring additional support to continue their learning.
Sessions may take place in the student's home or another suitable learning environment, depending on the placement.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help students rebuild confidence, develop essential academic skills and re-engage with education at a pace that suits their individual needs.
We offer flexible tutoring opportunities, with referrals available for tutors seeking part-time work or additional hours.
Maths and English are essential, and experience teaching additional subjects is an advantage.
Every student has different strengths, challenges and learning goals. We aim to match tutors to referrals based on their experience, subject knowledge, location and availability.
You should be patient, reliable, adaptable and confident working independently with children and young people who may have experienced difficulties accessing education.
Experience working with SEN, SEMH, school avoidance or alternative provision is highly desirable.
QTS is not essential for every placement, provided you have suitable experience and subject knowledge. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred.
Experience teaching both subjects is essential for this role.
Additional subjects welcome: Science, Humanities, Computing, Modern Foreign Languages and primary curriculum subjects.
Typical referrals are around 10-15 hours per week per student, with opportunities to take on additional referrals depending on availability and demand.
