Job summary

Macquarie Asset Management seeks a private funds lawyer with 2-5 years of experience to support formation, fundraising and client platforms across Europe. You will work with product, legal and investment teams on fund structures and separately managed accounts, contributing to the growth of the Credit and Insurance platform.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in alternative funds, with exposure to credit funds and standalone managed accounts helpful
• Strong foundation in European asset management regulation, applied in a commercial, solutions-focused way
• Exposure to cross-border fund structures and developing expertise in this area
• Established knowledge in European private funds law from private practice or in-house
• Ability to work with external counsel and internal stakeholders with attention to detail and practical delivery
• Willingness to learn, grow and contribute to developing Credit business and new initiatives

Responsibilities

• Support legal aspects of private credit fund formation and fundraising across Europe
• Collaborate with product specialists and portfolio teams on structuring funds and SMAs
• Contribute to growth of Macquarie Asset Management's Credit and Insurance platform
• Engage with global investor base and cross-border fund structures across infrastructure credit, direct lending, CLOs and long-term income strategies

What role will you play?

Drawing on your alternative funds expertise, you will support the legal aspects of private credit fund formation, fundraising activity and client platforms across infrastructure credit, direct lending, collateralised loan obligations and other long-term income strategies. Working closely with product specialists and portfolio teams, the role will involve helping to structure funds and separately managed accounts, with a primary focus on European fundraising for a global investor base. There will also be opportunities to support high net worth and more retail-focused vehicles, as well as contribute to the continued growth of Macquarie Asset Management's Credit and Insurance platform. As part of a dedicated group of private funds lawyers, you will collaborate with colleagues across Credit and Insurance, legal, governance and investment teams.

• 2-5 years of experience in alternative funds, ideally gained through private fund launches in EMEA, with exposure to credit funds and separately managed accounts being helpful rather than essential
• A strong foundation in European asset management regulation, together with the curiosity and judgement to apply technical knowledge in a commercial, solutions-focused way
• Exposure to cross-border fund structures, with a clear interest in developing further expertise in this area
• Established knowledge in European private funds law, from either private practice or an in-house environment, with the ability to build strong working relationships across legal and business teams
• Confidence working with external counsel and internal stakeholders, balancing attention to detail with a practical approach to delivery
• An appetite to learn, grow and contribute to a developing Credit business, supporting new initiatives and building expertise across private credit and alternative investment products
