Our Alternative Education provisions have an excellent reputation for supporting the education of vulnerable students who are autistic, have attachment difficulties, and have social, emotional and mental health needs.

Students and staff benefit from access to excellent facilities on our split site, including access to our School Farm, Construction Hub, and Outdoor Learning Centre. Working 1:1 or in small groups with a high staffing ratio allows us to provide highly bespoke and individualised educational provision to our students with additional support provided by our therapy and pastoral teams.

The post holder will be a key part of an exciting phase of development of our KS3 and KS4 provision. It will involve developing a Functional Skills programme supplemented by a multi-pathway vocational skills qualification framework. This development will be supported by the Head of Alternative Education, the department SENCO, the Senior Teacher, the Exams Coordinator, and all the other specialists within the wider organisation.

The company is unable to sponsor employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

  • Demonstrate analytical thinking to improve the quality of students' learning, contribute to the provision improvement/development planning and promote the learning priorities of the school SDP (School Development Plan);
  • Have lead responsibility for a subject or aspect of the school's work and develop plans which identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and/or maintenance;
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school and all education activities.
