Job description

Your new School Hays are recruiting a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant in Cardiff for a Special Educational Needs School which caters for pupils aged 4-11 with a variety of additional learning needs. This role involves working with small groups of children with diverse needs, including some behavioural challenges. The school boasts a supportive and passionate teaching team eager to welcome new members. With staff support, students can thrive and enjoy their education. The school is committed to providing an equal and positive learning environment to help students grow into kind and inquisitive individuals.

Your new role

The position is confirmed long-term with a January start, working 5 days a week. There are also similar positions within this school and a sister school with immediate start dates. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Working with small groups of students with additional needs and some challenging behaviour.
  2. Demonstrating patience and empathy when managing challenging behaviour.
  3. Creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
  4. Assisting teachers in implementing lesson plans.
  5. Collaborating closely with other teaching staff.
