Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a patient, empathetic, and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant to support students with additional learning needs at a welcoming secondary school in Flintshire from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and experienced in supporting young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ALN
Assist with differentiated learning activities in and out of the classroom
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, ALNCOs, and external professionals
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with ALN/SEND (school-based or other settings)
Strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
A calm, adaptable and caring approach to support individual needs
EWC registration as a Learning Support Worker (or willingness to register before the role begins)
Desirable (not essential):
Training in Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or other SEND strategies
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
