Job summary

Equal Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ALN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties in a specialist ALN school environment. The role focuses on one-to-one and small group support, with safeguarding and inclusive practice at the core.

You will work under experienced teachers to deliver customised learning activities, promote inclusion, and monitor development plans.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and caring approach with flexibility.
• Works well as part of a team in a specialist setting.
• Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties at one of our client schools.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism, physical disabilities and complex learning needs
• Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual development plans
• Occasionally assisting with personal care, mobility and wellbeing, ensuring dignity and safety
• Supporting sensory, communication and differentiated learning activities
