Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate ALN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and work within a Special Resource Base (SRB) class in a Primary school in Barry.

Role Overview:
As an ALN LSA, you will be working within a supportive team to assist a class of 10 pupils, each with diverse needs. Your responsibilities include supporting classroom activities, promoting emotional well-being, assisting with personal care, and helping students achieve their individual learning goals. You will collaborate with the class teacher and other LSAs to provide tailored support, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a class of 10 pupils with various ALN and behavior challenges.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and other LSAs to deliver individualised support.
  • Assist with the emotional well-being of students and help develop life skills.
  • Support students with personal care tasks where necessary.
  • Help implement and monitor individual learning plans (ILPs).
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience working within a Primary School setting, ideally with children with ALN and behavioral challenges.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of children with ALN, including social, emotional, and behavioral support.
  • Experience supporting students requiring additional learning and development support.
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS check.
  • Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
