PS CR Summer Placement - Lab Technician

CPL have partnered with ALMAC Group to recruit for a Distribution Administratorto join their team on a temporary, on-going contract.

· Location – ALMAC Global Headquarters, Craigavon

· Benefits – 34 days holiday per annum pro-rata

· Hours – 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday

OVERALL, ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The post holders will ensure that the cleanliness of the laboratory is maintained to a high standard, providing support to their department and ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and following Good Laboratory Practice. The role may also involve the sampling and testing of packaging materials, the sampling of raw materials and products and the subsequent completion of the required documentation in accordance with specified pharmaceutical standards.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

The post holder will:

1.Maintain the pharmaceutical environment within the laboratory in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

2.Maintain the laboratory equipment according to internal procedures and conduct additional maintenance as required.

3.Monitor the stock levels of laboratory consumables and re-order appropriate quantities as required.

4.Provide support to Analysts and Senior Analysts by assisting in the conduction of physical tests and incoming inspection of packing components.

5.Perform finished goods inspections on manufactured product

6.Perform sampling of packing materials, raw materials and manufactured product.

7.Accurately record and report to a high standard the completion of tests according to Pharmacopoeial/GMP standards.

8.Review results of testing carried out by other Laboratory Technicians.

9.Assist in maintaining the documentation systems of the laboratory.

10.To perform any other duties deemed appropriate by their Manager.

This role requires coverage beyond normal working hours on a regular basis and shift work and it is a condition of your employment that you are able to fulfil this requirement of the role.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS:

·GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths

EXPERIENCE:

KEY SKILLS:

·Proven ability to adopt a methodical approach, managing multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work carried out

·Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment

·Willing to learn and apply new skills

·Excellent attention to detail

·Practical problem-solving skills

·Proficiency in use of basic IT applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

QUALIFICATIONS:

·A-Level (or equivalent) in Chemistry in addition to either Biology or Physics

·B.Sc. (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a Life Science with a significant Chemistry component

EXPERIENCE:

·Experience of working in a commercial laboratory environment

·Experience of working in a commercial GMP laboratory environment
