Scismic is supporting the growth of a leading global contract research and manufacturing organization for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
We're looking for an Alliance Manager – Chemistry Manufacturing Controls to manage and grow existing alliances with R&D and commercial customers, develop new contracts, and facilitate the renewal of existing ones.
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of personal sales targets
- Maintain active awareness of progress against personal sales targets and develop a sales plan to meet quarterly targets
- Deliver sales objectives through regular customer engagement and disciplined use of Salesforce to track progress
- Understand customer needs
- Interact with customers to understand their requirements and develop tailored solutions
- Collaborate with colleagues across R&D, Project management, and Pre-sales to develop competitive proposals for CMC services
- Develop customer relationships
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing customers to grow long-term partnerships
- Identify key decision-makers within customer organizations
- Partner with internal teams to facilitate delivery of customer requirements (e.g., site visits, audits, legal documents, industry events, sustainability initiatives)
- Understand how Sai can assist the customer
- Stay informed about company capabilities and communicate proactively to identify sales opportunities
- Collaborate with business intelligence colleagues to identify growth opportunities within customer portfolios
- Ensure customer delivery and experience
- Work with R&D and Project management to meet OTIF targets
- Engage external stakeholders to manage issues impacting delivery
- Escalate delivery challenges with potential solutions to senior leadership
- Support the completion of key project documents (e.g., statements of work, supply agreements)
- Act as a point of contact for post-project customer requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in project management or business development within biotech, pharma, or CMOs, from sales or outsourcing perspectives
- Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred; advanced degrees helpful but not mandatory
- Knowledge of the small molecule development lifecycle from IND to commercialization
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Communication: Proficient in English (verbal and written), skilled in Microsoft Office, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex information
- Industry awareness: Knowledge of custom chemical manufacturing, ability to represent the company to pharma and biotech stakeholders, understanding of industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscapes
- Solution delivery: Ability to address customer challenges, proactively seek solutions, and network across organizations to identify opportunities
- Travel: Willing and able to travel internationally, especially to India, US, UK, and EU
