Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in Derby is seeking a versatile Vehicle Technician / Workshop Mechanic to join our friendly team. You will perform routine servicing, safety checks, and pre-MOT health checks on a mix of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

The role requires hands-on experience, recognised qualifications, a full UK driving licence and your own tools; DVSA MOT Card is preferred. We offer a supportive environment with on-site parking and a stable workload.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with a wide mix of makes/models and light commercial vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence and own hand tools essential.
• DVSA MOT Smart Card preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and safety inspections.
• Carry out pre-MOT health checks and core mechanical repairs.
• Diagnose faults across a wide mix of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Pay & Benefits

• Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + team performance bonus
• Hours: Monday to Friday schedule + Saturdays operated on a fair team rota basis

Role Overview

Seeking a versatile Vehicle Technician / Workshop Mechanic to join our friendly workshop crew. You will be responsible for executing routine servicing, safety inspections, pre-MOT health checks, and core mechanical repairs across a wide mix of customer and light commercial vehicles to high industry standards.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served garage background).
• Hands-on experience working on a wide mix of makes, models, and light commercial vehicles.
• Valid DVSA MOT Smart Card is preferred (commands a higher starting salary), but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence & own hand tools.
