Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurse Cornwall (Ref:005ZB)

We are looking for two Alcohol Substance Misuse Nurses to provide harm reduction interventions to clients. You can be based at any of our main offices (Truro, Liskeard, or Penzance).

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will deliver high-quality, community-based support to individuals affected by alcohol dependency. Responsibilities include leading healthcare clinics, educational groups, assessing clients, coordinating community detoxification programmes, and educating clients and their families about relapse prevention medication used in alcohol dependence.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Completed pre-registration nurse training
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car, with business use insurance
Experience
  • Understanding of NMC code of conduct
  • Experience in comprehensive needs assessments, risk assessments, and management
  • Knowledge of safe drug storage, handling, and administration, especially controlled drugs
  • Understanding of agencies involved in drug and alcohol response services
  • Ability to work constructively with diverse groups and settings
  • Competence in planning, implementing, and evaluating client care
  • Strong communication skills and client engagement ability
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet care needs
