Job Opportunity: Alcohol Recovery Worker

We are seeking an experienced Alcohol Recovery Worker to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring they access the right interventions at the right time, tailored to their needs.

Location and Hours

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full Time)

Salary and Contract

£27,861.26 - £32,002.35 (full-time, pro-rata for part-time)

Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support service users from entry through their recovery journey.
  2. Conduct screening, assessments, recovery planning, and referrals.
  3. Reduce alcohol-related harm to individuals and the community.
  4. Promote involvement of carers, service users, and the community.
  5. Advocate for access to partnership services.
  6. Support social reintegration, recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  7. Design and deliver group sessions and workshops tailored to service needs.
  8. Review progress and concerns with co-facilitators post-group.
  9. Support the alcohol team with community detox programs.
Candidate Requirements
  • Understanding of substance misuse issues and relevant experience.
  • Experience managing group dynamics and challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good IT knowledge.
  • Proactive, independent, with strong time management skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health interventions and services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change effectively, prioritizing service user needs.
  • Adherence to information governance and safeguarding policies.
  • Willingness to learn and support the development of others.

Sponsorship Information

This role is not eligible for a Health and Care Worker visa. Sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route may be possible if salary requirements are met. More info can be found here.
