Job summary

Phoenix Futures is seeking an Alcohol Practitioner based in the Chesterfield area. You will manage a caseload of clients with alcohol issues, delivering harm reduction interventions and structured key working to support recovery and healthier outcomes.

The role requires coordinating with nurses, technicians and prescribers, delivering personalised care plans, and working with partner services to support each individual’s journey. Training and shadowing are included in induction.

Qualifications

• Experience in drug/alcohol field or lived experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, highly motivated, proactive.
• Good organisational and diary management skills; administrative duties are vital.

The Role

This role will be based at our Chesterfield site, working 22.5 hours per week within Monday-Friday 9am-5pm on a permanent contract. The key work team is made up of drug and alcohol practitioners with specialisms - for this particular role we are looking for an experienced Alcohol Practitioner. Within this role you will manage a caseload of service users presenting with alcohol issues, utilising our alcohol pathway as you deliver a range of harm reduction interventions and structured key working, helping engage people in a recovery focussed way to attain improved health outcomes and achieve their personalised treatment goals.This will involve you effectively organising and delivering 1-2-1 care-planned support using appropriate models, interventions and approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of service users. You will work closely with the service's health improvement nurses, fibro scan technicians and alcohol non-medical prescribers. Furthermore, you will support people in their individual, person-centred journey by partnership working with other support agencies and specialist teams within our service, including hospital alcohol liaison workers, recovery connectors, employment workers, rehab workers and counsellors.

Full role training and shadowing opportunities will be included as part of your induction.

The Location

This role will be based in the Chesterfield area of Derbyshire. There are good public transport links and a staff car park on site (you do not need to drive as part of this role). The Chesterfield team is our largest office site, offering a wealth of knowledge, diversity and support.

About You

We are keen to hear from anyone with experience of working within the field of drug and/or alcohol use, and/or has lived experience, and is very motivated and passionate about recovery and supporting others.

We welcome applications from individuals that have good communication skills, both written and verbal, are highly motivated, can use their own initiative, and have good organisational and diary management skills. Administrative skills are also vital for this role to maintain good record keeping and to have a keen eye for data detail.

• Starting salary of £26,298 with opportunity to access potential yearly salary increments subject to appraisal, meaning potential salary increase up to £28,000 per annum (pro rata)
