Job summary

DXC Technology Company is seeking an AIX & Red Hat Linux Engineer for an on-site UK role. You will design, implement, and maintain IBM AIX and RHEL systems, manage LPARs, VIO servers, and HMCs on IBM Power, and optimize performance while ensuring security compliance.

The role emphasizes automation with shell scripting and Ansible/Puppet, and requires eligibility for UK government security clearance. On-site presence in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of AIX administration experience.
• 3+ years of RHEL experience.
• Strong IBM Power Systems knowledge.
• Shell scripting with Korn or Bash; automation using Ansible or Puppet.

Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for UK Government Security Clearance

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain IBM AIX and RHEL systems.
• Manage LPARs, VIO servers, and HMCs in IBM Power Systems.
• Optimize performance, handle upgrades, patching, and backups.
• Automate tasks using shell scripting and Ansible.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and ensure compliance with security standards.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years AIX administration, 3+ years RHEL experience.
• Strong IBM Power Systems knowledge.
• Shell scripting (Korn, Bash) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Eligible for UK Government Security Clearance.

Nice to Have

• Python scripting, IBM AIX certification, RHCSA/RHCE.
• Experience with hybrid cloud, containers (Docker, Podman), and monitoring tools.
