Matchtech Group is seeking a Head of Airworthiness for a permanent role based in Manchester with hybrid working. You will oversee airworthiness across the Design Organisation, ensuring regulatory compliance and continued airworthiness, while coordinating with the CAA and reporting to the Engineering Director.

The role requires extensive aerospace certification experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Form Four eligibility and the relevant knowledge to support submission to the CAA.
• Extensive design and certification experience within aerospace.
• Thorough knowledge of Part 21 requirements, certification specs and procedures.
• Strong understanding of Design Organisation Handbook processes, including classification and compliance demonstration.
• Ability to make reliable technical judgments affecting airworthiness.
• Excellent report writing, presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

Responsabilités

• Oversee airworthiness matters for the Design Organisation's design activities.
• Coordinate airworthiness activities and liaise with the CAA on regulatory interpretation and decisions.
• Maintain the Design Organisation Handbook and ensure procedures remain accurate and compliant.
• Ensure all design activities are conducted within the terms of approval and DO Handbook.
• Oversee classification and justification for type-certificate changes and repairs.
• Act as a technical checker, approver or Compliance Verification Engineer when required.
• Sign declarations of compliance and monitor continued airworthiness of design products.
• Prepare regular reports for the CAA and deputise for the Head of Design when required.
• Support the Safety Manager with responsibilities relating to the Safety Management System.
