Job summary

Gatwick Airport Limited is seeking an Airspace Noise Analyst to support data collection, analysis and reporting for aircraft track keeping, noise monitoring and night jet impacts.

This hybrid role requires strong Excel and Power BI skills, along with experience handling complex datasets and communicating findings to local authorities and communities.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification is desirable, ideally in a related subject matter or equivalent aviation related experience.
  • Demonstratable strong knowledge of Excel and Power BI with proven data manipulation and reporting experience
  • Proven experience analysing complex datasets, identifying trends and translating data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
  • Experience of aviation, airspace, air traffic control, airport and/or aircraft operations highly desirable.
  • High level of computer skills especially in mapping software tools, modelling software and Microsoft Office.
  • Practised in writing a range of material including, for example: detailed formal reports, formal letter writing and responses to requests for information.
  • Experience of collaborative working across and outside a business and with multi-disciplinary government/regulator/industry teams (and preferably with local stakeholders).
  • Accomplished at providing high-quality customer service, occasionally in demanding situations

Responsibilities

  • Data collection and analysis for tracking keeping, noise abatement and compliance and night jet monitoring requirements.
  • Create analyses and reports in Excel and Power BI for stakeholders and authorities.
  • Respond to inquiries from leadership, GAL stakeholders and regulators (DfT/CAA) about aircraft noise and track keeping.
  • Manage the Noise and Track Keeping system ensuring data integrity.
  • Coordinate documents for regular stakeholder meetings; minute taking may be required.
  • Assist with handling complaints during peak times for complaints.

This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

What is the role?

The London Gatwick Noise Team focus on the impact of airport noise for our neighbours, as well as helping Gatwick get the most out of the airspace. The purpose of the Airspace Office Analyst is to fulfil the data collection, analysis and reporting requirements for aircraft track keeping noise monitoring and night jet.

What will you do?
  • Responsible for the data collection, analysis and, where appropriate, reporting of the full range of tracking keeping, noise abatement and compliance and night jet monitoring requirements.
  • Creating analysis and reports in Excel and other data visualisation tools such as Power BI to inform and deliver information to the business, local authorities and local communities.
  • Responding to a range of requests and enquiries - from senior members of the leadership team, GAL stakeholders and external stakeholders such as the DfT or CAA - concerning aircraft noise and track keeping.
  • Manage the Noise and Track Keeping system, ensuring that data and information integrity is maintained to the required standards.
  • Act as the point of contact for arranging and co-ordinating documents for regular stakeholder committee meetings, to ensure meeting take place efficiently and followed up actions are captured. Minute taking may also be required.
  • Assisting the Airspace Office Coordinator with handling complaints during peak times for complaints.
