Job Opportunity: Airport Services Duty Officer at London Gatwick

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Ground Services team in London Gatwick as an Airport Services Duty Officer.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the overall control of the shift, monitoring activities across sections at the airport, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring the punctuality and safety of all Qatar Airways operations.

Accountabilities
  1. Manage day-to-day operations and act as liaison between airport service providers and users.
  2. Provide input and recommendations to management to improve daily operational effectiveness.
  3. Ensure passenger and aircraft handling practices comply with safety and security standards.
  4. Manage and control manpower on shift to optimize utilization, morale, and discipline.
  5. Conduct spot checks to maintain standards.
  6. Resolve customer problems and complaints effectively, liaising with departments including Customer Relations.
  7. Conduct briefing sessions for shift and GHA supervisors.
  8. Compile detailed station handling reports for the Airport Duty Manager.
  9. Manage petty cash expenses and track expenditure according to financial procedures, including monthly reports, FFP enrollments, and LPC checks.
  10. Serve as Petty Cash Custodian, delegate duties, and maintain monthly statistics.
  11. Prepare monthly reports and LPCs.
  12. Perform other departmental duties as directed by the Head of Department.
  13. Perform Aircraft Turnaround Check (ATC) duties as assigned to ensure safe ground operations.
  14. Operate aircraft cabin service doors from outside where applicable to enhance safety and reduce risks.
