Job summary

Great Northern Market operates at Manchester Airport and is seeking a committed Supervisor to lead a busy team delivering exceptional food and beverage service. The role is hourly paid with shifts that may start early (3 a.m.) or finish late, requiring flexibility and strong guest service focus.

You will oversee service areas, coach staff, and ensure health and safety, licensing, and quality standards are met while driving positive customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is desirable.
• Mid-level hospitality experience with leadership responsibility.
• Familiarity with airport-based hospitality preferred.
• Ability to identify health and safety or food preparation concerns.
• Track record in customer satisfaction and service.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to lead teams.
• Organised and able to handle conflicting priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, coach, and guide the team during shifts to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety, food preparation, and alcohol licensing requirements.
• Support training and development of new and existing team members.
• Motivate the team through clear and positive communication and briefs.
• Handle customer feedback and escalation as necessary.
• Assist the Manager on Duty with shift handovers and responsibilities.
• Keep management updated on key issues during shifts.
• Collaborate with back-of-house to deliver excellent service.
