This new department aims for ambitious growth, and we are seeking an experienced Air Import Operator to lay the foundation for our expansion.

Location: London Heathrow

Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

How you will contribute:

• Proven experience in air import and/or air export operations.
• Proficiency in customs clearance entry preparation and submission for import/export.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional telephone manner.
• Air DG training is an advantage; training will be provided if not already certified.
• Execute activities in accordance with DP World global freight forwarding processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external governance.
• Assist with account setup and liaise with sales to gather required documentation for SOPs.
• Monitor and audit files weekly for compliance, profitability, and timely invoicing.
• Assist clients with export/import documentation requests to ensure proper execution.
• Handle shipment irregularities promptly and effectively.
• Provide clients with flight details to ensure smooth information flow.
• Liaise with airlines to secure capacity and cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare and execute customer quotations promptly.
• Coordinate with internal network and external agents to ensure optimal service.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations during air freight operations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to manage workflow overloads.
• Maintain customer reports as required.

What you will bring:

Qualifications:

• GCSE Level or above.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in freight forwarding air operations and customer service.

Skills:

• Solid knowledge of the freight forwarding industry.
• Strong initiative and execution skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Employment Conditions:

• Ability to provide five years of employment history and references.
• Subject to a DBS check and compliance with aviation legislation.
