Job summary

British Airways Engineering Wales invites enthusiastic individuals to join an Aircraft Systems & Component Workshop Apprenticeship at Cardiff Airport. You’ll rotate through mechanical, electrical, avionics and systems maintenance in a high-spec facility.

You’ll learn fault diagnosis, component repairs, calibration of test equipment and safety standards, with progression through NVQ and internal pathways toward skilled engineering roles.

Qualifications

• GCSEs with Maths, English Language and Science at grade C/4 or higher.
• Level 2 Engineering qualification with Maths and Science at Distinction level.
• Over 16 and resident in the UK; right to live and work in UK.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through workshop environments: mechanical, electrical/electronic, avionics and systems maintenance.
• Hands-on work with navigation, flight deck, radio and radar modules, lighting, motors and actuators, wiring looms and safety systems.
• Learn to diagnose faults using modern diagnostics and test equipment.
• Carry out component strip-downs, repairs, rebuilds and testing.
• Support calibration of tooling and test systems to aviation standards.
