Job description

Role Purpose

In this role you will be responsible for the refuelling of passenger aircraft as per the service level agreement of the airline.

What you will be doing

  1. Attending and refuelling aircraft by vehicle Tanker/bowser as directed by the Allocators / Supervisor and/or Daily Worksheet.
  2. Operating in accordance with Airport, Health & Safety, HM Customs, Security, and MA ASIG regulations and procedures.
  3. Operating on-board aircraft switches in accordance with ASIG/Airline procedure.
  4. Recording data manually and/or by computer.
  5. Conducting vehicle checks by carrying out the designated quality control procedures. Identifying any defects found and reporting accordingly.
  6. Ensuring all vehicles are serviced with diesel/gas oil and necessary lubricants.
  7. Maintaining regular radio/telephone contact for flight information and operating all forms of communications as provided.
  8. Reporting any incidents and providing reports as required.
  9. Carrying out other relevant tasks as directed by the Supervisor or regional manager.

What we are looking for

  1. Valid driving license with HGV C or HGV C+E (CPC & ADR would be an advantage, CPC will be provided).
  2. High standard of numeracy and literacy skills required in addition to problem-solving skills.
  3. Good team working skills required with a high degree of flexibility.
  4. Aircraft re-fuelling experience essential.
  5. Must have a checkable five-year employment history.
  6. Must be able to pass airside driving medical.
  7. Must be able to obtain a Gatwick Airport airside security pass.
  8. Excellent leadership, personal and communication skills are essential as is the need to be both adaptable and flexible.
