Job Title: Aircraft/Precision Assembly Technician
Duration: 06 months with possible extension
Location: Kent, WA 98032
Pay rate:
A Shift: $42/hr
C Shift: $46.62/hr
Shift hours:
- Shift A: Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm
- Shift C: Friday - Sunday (5:00AM to 6:00PM)
Job Responsibilities:
- Assemble structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanically actuated component sub-assemblies for New Shepard, New Glenn, and engine components.
- Assemble structural components to aerospace standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback, and support development tests.
- Review, edit, and follow work instructions for assembly tasks.
- Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.
- Work safely with hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure systems.
- Work effectively in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Apply excellent problem-solving skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 3-5+ years of experience in precision assembly.
- Experience drilling and preparing close tolerance holes, and installing fasteners.
- Ability to document and maintain accurate records, follow procedures, and read drawings and prints.
- Proficiency with standard tools and basic fabrication equipment.
- Experience with aerospace, military hardware, or related fields.
- Ability to use standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, refugee, or asylum status).
Physical Requirements:
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and vehicle integration.
- 5+ years in aerospace or related fields.
- A&P license or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with pressurized system safety.
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment like cranes and forklifts.
- Experience with 3D measurement tools and software like Spatial Analyzer/Verisurf.
- Knowledge of rocket propellants, including hydrogen peroxide, RP, and cryogenics.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (CREO) and reading GD&T standards.
