Job description

The programme is designed to give you a broad understanding of aircraft engineering principles while gaining the qualifications needed to become a future Aircraft Technician.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Working in a live hangar and workshop environment, performing general airframe fitter duties, in line with the training programme.
  2. Behaving safely at all times, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
  3. Complying with company operating, safety, and security procedures. Reporting safety and security concerns and taking responsibility for your own actions.
  4. Ensuring that equipment is maintained in a serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe condition; any faulty equipment should be suitably labelled and reported.
  5. Listening and contributing to ensure effective two-way communication. Remaining positive and professional at all times.
  6. Being willing to adapt to changing business requirements. Awareness of the overall business strategy and how your role affects and relates to it.
  7. Motivated and focused to achieve agreed goals and targets. Looking to develop your role through feedback and guidance from peers and colleagues.
  8. Forging good working relationships with other team members and colleagues. Sharing information and fully supporting others at all times.
  9. Attending lessons and exams at the Future Skills Centre as scheduled in the Apprenticeship programme, to work towards your license.
  10. Always striving to do the right thing through honesty, integrity, and by challenging assumptions.

Health & Safety

Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities, such as:

  • Being aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work, including management responsibilities as required by the H&S Manual.
  • Being aware of aviation safety responsibilities with regard to the EAL Safety Policy, including management responsibilities as required by the Safety Management Manual.
  • Being aware of aviation security responsibilities with regard to the EAL Security Policy.

Core Competencies

Right to live and work in the UK.

Two years of post-secondary education. Any engineering experience or studies are advantageous.
