Job description

Our client has an opportunity for an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to join them on a contract basis until April 2026. You will be responsible for assisting in the movement, Line and Base Maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet.
Role: Aircraft Mechanical Fitter
Location: RAF Valley Wales
Hourly Rate: £27.07 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35 + Shift Allowance
Clearance: BPSS required to start. Full SC to follow
Hours: average 40 hours per week, 2-week rotational shift pattern:
Week 1 - Monday to Friday Winter 10.00 to 1830 (Summer 1100 to 1930)
Week 2 - Monday to Friday 0700 to 1530
What you'll be doing:

  • Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
  • Accomplishment of Maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by nominated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
  • Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Completion of maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with written instructions laid down by OEM.
  • Conduct off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required.
  • Also required to assist in day to day running of the aircraft Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Requirements:
ESSENTIAL

  • Must have thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
  • Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems.
  • Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or related discipline.
  • Experience of Base Maintenance.
  • Experience of Flight Operations and Line Maintenance.

Must have up to date knowledge of:

  • Flight/Airport Operations
  • Aircraft Line Maintenance
  • Aircraft Base Maintenance.

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
  • Knowledge of CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
