Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace seeks an Aircraft Avionics Fitter I (FAR) at GAC Farnborough to support inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft systems and structures. Under supervision, you will perform duties and step into leadership when required, following UKCAA regulations and company procedures.

Responsibilities include completing paperwork, ensuring quality, handling aircraft components, operating ground support equipment, and participating in certification or flight tests as needed.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education with GSE Grade C or above in English, Mathematics required.
• Recognized Aviation industry approved apprenticeship with experience within a part 145 organization.
• Working knowledge of UKCAA regulations, process specifications, repair station and quality control manuals, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications under supervision of certifying staff.
• Assist with movement of aircraft as required.
• Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paper work in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
• Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment; store components securely and safely.
• Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment.
• Ensure all customer property is properly protected.
• Use material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to Work Orders, items, and squawks.
• Properly collect and dispose of waste fluids and keep work areas clean and uncluttered.
• Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment; return items to storage area after use.
• Comply with safety rules and report unsafe conditions; address hazards before risk to people or property.
• In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft.

Education
