MAG (Airports Group) is recruiting an Air Traffic Control Assistant to support Air Traffic Control Officers at East Midlands Airport. The role involves a 24/7 roster, with hands-on duties handling flight data, NOTAMs, and coordination across airport teams.

The successful candidate will have GCSEs including maths and English, strong English and Maths skills, solid IT proficiency, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Qualifications

• Education to the equivalent standard of 5 GCSEs including maths and English.
• Good command of English, Maths and excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to perform and communicate well under pressure.
• Capability to progress to controller training.
• Develop spatial awareness, multitasking, assertiveness and team spirit.
• Ability to engender harmonious working relationships with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Processing incoming and outgoing AFTN signals, flight plans, and AIS information.
• Transmission and dissemination of NOTAMs and SNOWTAMs; liaising with Brussels IFPS.
• Co-ordination with Departure Flow Regulator and airlines for slots and revisions.
• Preparation and handling of Electronic Flight Progress Strips; data entry in CHROMA.
• Coordination with other airport departments and agencies for stand allocation and tow approvals.
• Notification and liaison with emergency authorities during emergencies.
• Meteorological observing, reporting and ATIS recording after training.
