Job Title: Air Safety Consultant
Location: Hybrid / Bristol
Salary: £65,000 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Air Safety Consultant with a solid foundation in aerospace safety management and defence standards. You will work on high-impact aviation and aerospace projects across the defence and security sector, contributing to national safety through advanced safety engineering methodologies. This role is ideal for professionals with proven experience in aircraft safety cases, DE&S standards (particularly DEF STAN 005), and Air Engineering Toolkits, and who can confidently manage complex safety strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety management assignments with clients across defence and aerospace.
  • Develop safety and airworthiness reports, technical evaluations, certification documentation, and safety case material.
  • Provide assurance across project deliverables and support business development activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in aviation/aircraft safety cases, hazard and risk management, and military aviation safety systems.
  • Familiarity with Defence Standard 00-56 and other MOD/DE&S standards such as DEF STAN 005.
  • Hands-on experience with tools and methodologies including ASPIRE, Air Engineering Toolkit, FHA, FTA, ZHA, and FMECA.
  • Knowledge of Safety Assessment Reports, Safety Management Plans, and airworthiness strategies.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of UK, NATO, or allied aviation safety regulatory frameworks.
  • Involvement in professional safety or aerospace societies.
