This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in air quality assessment and atmospheric science to contribute to a wide variety of high-profile projects across infrastructure, urban development, transport, and industrial sectors.
As an Air Quality Consultant, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality assessments, engaging with clients and regulators, and contributing to planning and environmental reporting. We're looking for a proactive team player who can clearly communicate complex technical information to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
The successful Air Quality Consultant will play a key role in our multidisciplinary team, supporting sustainable development and helping clients meet environmental regulations and air quality standards.
This position is based in our Bristol office, offering hybrid working and opportunities to collaborate closely with regional and national teams.
Conduct air quality assessments for planning and permitting, including dispersion modelling (e.g., ADMS, AERMOD).
Produce robust technical reports to support Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and planning applications.
Perform air quality monitoring, data collection, and analysis.
Liaise with clients, regulators (e.g., Environment Agency, local authorities), and project stakeholders.
Support project management activities to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
Stay current with UK air quality legislation, policy, and best practice guidance.
Degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
2-5 years of experience in air quality consultancy or a relevant role.
Skilled in dispersion modelling software (e.g., ADMS, AERMOD, Breeze).
Knowledge of IAQM, LAQM TG(22), and EPUK/IAQM planning guidance.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Full UK driving licence (desirable).
