Job description

Job title: Air Project Finance Capability Centre Team Leader

Location: Warton/Samlesbury – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £54,793 – £60,326

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and participate in functional and programme planning meetings, driving alignment between finance and key project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with fellow team leaders to drive continuous improvement and share best practices across project types and value streams
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, using data-driven insights to influence decision-making and drive financial performance
  • Deliver targeted financial training across the business to upskill teams and enhance financial understanding
  • Partner with stakeholders on long-term planning and risk mitigation strategies to ensure financial resilience and agility
  • Support new business activities alongside the Project Finance Lead (PFL) and Finance Business Partner (FBP), providing expert financial input
  • Lead Business Performance Reviews, offering actionable insights through Strategic Delivery Units (SDUs) to influence decision-making
  • Utilise advanced AI forecasting techniques to deliver accurate and insightful projections for budgeting and forecasting project performance across Air sector projects
  • Collaborate with fellow team leaders to drive continuous improvement and share best practices across project types and value streams
  • Manage, support, and develop a high-performing finance team—monitoring day-to-day deliverables and ensuring operational excellence

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience, should have a base level of education in Accountancy and demonstrated accountancy experience
  • Strong team management skills (will likely manage a team of c10 accountants at varying levels)
  • Able to successfully manage and influence stakeholder requirements and expectations
  • Lean process management and optimisation, continuous improvement activities

Desirable:

  • Expertise with modern toolsets (Power Suite, Alteryx, AI, etc) preferred but not essential
