Job description

Position: Air Freight Operator

Location: Colnbrook

Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00

Salary: up to 35,000 (DEO)

We are recruiting for our client, a company with over 25 years of experience in global logistics, specialising in urgent air shipments to full-vessel charters, with a focus on timely delivery. They are a multi-modal forwarder seeking to expand their team. The ideal candidate will have a background in air freight import operations, with training provided on exports and other freight modes.

Requirements:

• Must be able to drive and have your own car
• Experience working with a UK-based freight forwarder

Your key responsibilities as an Air Freight Operator:

• Complete start-to-finish consignments
• Build strong working relationships with clients, shipping lines, and agents; good negotiation skills and attention to detail are essential
• Provide freight rates, quotes, and pricing solutions for customers
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, merchant haulage, and carriers
• Track and update delivery statuses in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
• Complete customs procedures
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade laws
