Job description

Our client is a Global International Freight Forwarder, specialising within the Far East, USA as their main areas. Forming partnerships to freight manage their client's global business leaving the client free to concentrate on its own core business.

Now due to expansion we are recruiting for an Air Freight Import Operator to join the team at their location in Birmingham, in Solihull

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage air import shipments
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and carriers to arrange shipping schedules, negotiate rates, and handle all necessary documentation.
Prepare and process air freight documentation.
Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance policies.
Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers and stakeholders on the status of their cargo.
Manage multiple shipments simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

In order to apply you will have:

Experience of Air Imports freight forwarding
Experience with Cargowise is preferable
Used to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
Strong numerical and commercial skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise - preferable)
Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
Weekend overtime rota - one in four weekends you will work 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Can be done from home
