We are actively seeking experienced air, sea, and road freight professionals who are passionate about freight forwarding and aviation shipping for a new role as an Air Freight Forwarder at Manchester Airport in Wythenshawe. The position is based at Manchester Airport with a hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days per week).

Job Description

As an Air Freight Forwarder, you will report to the Freight Branch Manager daily. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Managing air freight import and export bookings, including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping, and customs documentation.
2. Handling operational documents and transportation details such as bookings, airway bills, and loading confirmations.
3. Nominating carriers, airlines, and GSA in line with rates, OTIF targets, and customer requirements, adhering to various INCOTerms.
4. Preparing additional customs documentation (ISF, COO, clearance docs) to facilitate freight movement across borders.
5. Performing customer rate analysis and route guidance, monitoring allocations, and ensuring operational efficiency.
6. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships to deliver high levels of customer service tailored to client needs.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in freight forwarding, covering both import and export operations. The ideal Air Freight Forwarder will possess:

• At least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding (air, sea, or road).
• Experience in pricing, quotations, and planning customer deliveries.
• Desirable experience with customs compliance.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
• Ability to commute to Wythenshawe, Manchester, on a hybrid basis (2-3 days per week).
