Job summary

A dynamic logistics organization is looking for an Airfreight Import Coordinator to manage operations within their Birmingham office. The suitable candidate will have strong industry knowledge, responsibility for creating customer standard operating procedures, and maintain client relationships. This full-time role includes weekend rotation with flexible home working opportunities. Candidates must possess excellent numerical, organizational skills and be able to work effectively under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing job P&L and reports.

NEW POSITION AVAILABLE: AIRFREIGHT IMPORT COORDINATOR

We are recruiting for an an enthusiastic and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to join our clients Airfreight team based in Birmingham.

Hours are Monday- Friday 8:30AM-5PM with a weekend overtime rota - one in four weekends, working four hours from home

Salary ranging between £26k-£35k depending on experience.

You will have industry knowledge and develop strong client, airline and supplier relationships to ensure the highest level of service is delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining customer standard operating procedures
  • Having a clear financial understanding of each job file(s) within your remit
  • Providing accurate and timely reports to department manager
  • Having ownership and taking accountability to deliver operational excellence
  • Ensuring that a 'customer is king' ethos is always applied in actions for the business
  • Delivering accurate and timely paperwork in relation to the creation and issuance of import documentation
  • Demonstrating commercial acumen and an in depth understanding of the P&L of a job
  • Freighting and Invoicing
  • Creating operational reports and ensuring that anomalies are escalated appropriately
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, airlines & overseas partners/agents
  • Ensuring that Metros' policies and procedures are adhered to

General Skills

  • Industry and operational knowledge of Airfreight
  • Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise - preferable)
  • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
  • Weekend overtime rota - one in four weekends you will work 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. Can be done from home
