Job summary

A leading freight forwarding company in the UK is seeking an experienced Senior Import Coordinator to join their busy Heathrow office. The role requires proactive and organized individuals with a strong understanding of import procedures and customs compliance, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

  • Experience managing the import process and customs compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the import process from start to finish.
  • Liaise with customers and internal teams to communicate effectively.
  • Resolve minor customer issues professionally.

Skills

GCSEs in Maths and English
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong working knowledge of ASM Sequoia and CargoWise
Solid experience with Home Use / CFSP / Warehousing
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to build effective working relationships
Positive, proactive attitude

Education

GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English - Grade 4/C or above

Job description

Documentation is accurate, up to date, and correctly uploaded into the system. Support the team during periods of absence or holidays. Attend customer meetings and identify opportunities to promote additional services. Assist with training and knowledge sharing across the team. Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the import function. Perform other duties as required for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Required Skills & Experience

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English - Grade 4/C or above.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASM Sequoia and CargoWise systems.
  • Solid experience with: Home Use / CFSP / Warehousing / Bonds / T1's / NCTS, Incoterms and freight rate calculations, Profiles and rate structures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
