MJ Quinn is a contractor providing Mechanical and Electrical services. Our Mechanical and Electrical Department is recruiting for the role of the Air Conditioning Engineer. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC equipment across client buildings throughout the UK.

The successful candidate will report to the Service, Warranty, and Product Manager within the Cooling Division. Responsibilities include servicing contracts, installation, commissioning, and supporting clients nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive and professional image by adhering to company policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop working practices.
  • Install various cooling units and systems at client premises.
  • Complete all paperwork for new installations.
  • Degas existing DX air conditioning units at client sites.
  • Fault find and repair cooling units on-site.
  • Handle warranty calls via phone support.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • Perform quality checks for system efficiency and safety.
  • Discuss requirements with clients.
  • Inspect, test, certify, and commission completed works.
  • Identify and rectify faults promptly.
  • Accurately record key data in job reports.
  • Maintain good relationships with stakeholders including colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Work efficiently within a team and communicate effectively across departments.

Person Specification:

  • Full UK driving license with no more than 6 points and no bans in the last 12 months.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Previous relevant experience.
  • Strong planning, organization, and monitoring skills.
  • Enjoy challenges, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High numeracy standards.
  • Knowledge of British standards.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check clearance.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
