As a Certification Consultant in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you will review and assess compliance achievement of complex system design against compliance needs for various air systems, providing guidance and leadership both internally and externally to meet programme objectives. You will lead key presentations, work closely with clients, and develop strategies to solve their most complex problems.

About us:

The Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T) Division of AtkinsRéalis leads in delivering Resilience Engineering & Sustainable Critical Systems, applying Safety Engineering principles. We offer independent advice in Military Aviation Certification, Airworthiness, and Safety Management.

Our clients require support across traditional and pioneering areas, which we provide through a broad understanding of Certification processes.

You will be part of the wider Safety Capability team, offering unbiased advice across engineering, regulatory, and strategic domains to various markets. We seek senior consultants with a good understanding of the Defence market to guide the development of aviation certification, airworthiness, and safety management solutions.

We look for individuals with self-motivation, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and professional characteristics, ideally with knowledge of Aerospace & Defence markets, to:

  1. Lead major certification management projects.
  2. Provide safety, airworthiness, technical evaluation, and certification artefacts.
  3. Ensure quality assurance of project work.
  4. Support market development.
  5. Anticipate future needs for capability development.
  6. Collaborate with clients on certification projects and inspire colleagues globally.

What you can bring:

  • Understanding and application of ASPIRE and AET Process 08.
  • Knowledge of MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP).
  • Experience with Military Air System Certification Processes (MACP), assessing AMCs, MCRIs, TCBs, and TCEs.
  • Familiarity with Airworthiness standards such as Defence Standard 00-970, Certification Specifications (CS), or FARs.
  • Experience in military aviation hazard/accident management.
  • Ability to build sustainable client relationships and identify future business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills for report writing and presentations.
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Knowledge of discipline developments across markets, including Defence.
  • Experience in developing Airworthiness Strategies and Certification Management Plans.
  • Ability to teach and share expertise.
  • Proficiency in Safety Assessments.
  • Working knowledge of Defence Standards like Def Stan 00-056.
  • Experience selling discipline capabilities across markets.
  • Membership in relevant professional societies or groups.
