About The Opportunity

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote, and the hours are flexible, so you can work whenever is best for you.

You may contribute your expertise by…

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by an AI model.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples of Desirable Expertise

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution.
• A strong sense of writing style with exceptional English spelling, grammar, logic, and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain strengths and weaknesses of a given text.

Payment

• US: average $25 USD per hour for core project work.
• UK: up to £19 GBP per hour.
• Canada: up to $34 CAD per hour.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Incentive payments may be available for certain projects. Please review payment terms for each project. International rates may vary.
