Job summary

Limbic is building an AI therapist that delivers structured, evidence-based CBT to adults with depression and anxiety, under licensed clinicians’ supervision. You will own end-to-end ML/AI work in a product team, delivering live improvements to a platform used in the US and UK.

The role blends computational psychiatry, science, and software engineering, with a focus on safe, eval-driven development and real patient impact. London-based with flexible hybrid work.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building LLM-powered features and eval-driven development.
• Hyothesis-driven approach balancing product and science.
• ML in production or strong publication record.
• Modeling text/language data and using vector methods.
• Experience with longitudinal data and databases.
• Strong knowledge of CBT or evidence-based mental health care.
• Bias to action and ability to ship in short cycles.
• Strong Git and collaboration skills.
• Ideal: experience building an LLM agent harness or real-time voice AI.
• Must be available to work from London office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities

• Improve AI therapist sessions: structure, case formulation, and therapeutic techniques with clinicians.
• Strengthen real-time safety systems, including risk detection and responses.
• Build evals and autolabellers, validated against clinician labels.
• Make voice conversations natural: pacing, recovery from off-script moments.
• Support patient engagement with reminders and clear therapy expectations.
• Enhance outcome measures collection (PHQ-9, GAD-7) and predictive modeling.
• Ship changes safely via incremental rollouts and clinical sign-off.
