RedTech Recruitment is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a highly innovative AI research company in Cambridge. You will design and develop cutting-edge software with TypeScript and Rust, in a research-driven environment.

The role offers hybrid working with at least two days in the office, a strong salary of £60,000–£65,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package including private health for family and an enhanced pension.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software experience with TypeScript and Rust.
• Good working knowledge of Python.
• Solid understanding of modern software engineering practices.
• Degree in a STEM subject.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in teams.
• Interest in complex technical challenges, data-driven systems and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance software products primarily using TypeScript and Rust alongside Python.
• Contribute to greenfield projects and existing systems improvements.
• Prototype new concepts and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers and stakeholders across disciplines.
• Analyze complex problems and craft robust solutions.
• Improve software quality, performance and scalability.
• Develop expertise across technologies and domains.
• Contribute to engineering discussions and strategy.
