Job summary

Valcon in the United Kingdom is seeking a senior consultant to lead AI strategy and business transformation with executive and operational stakeholders. You will shape AI roadmaps, build business cases, and drive organisational change to deliver measurable value.

You will work across consulting, data and AI engineering teams from discovery to delivery, turning strategy into practical transformation with tangible outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI strategy and business transformation engagements with senior client stakeholders.
• Identify and prioritise opportunities for AI, GenAI, agentic AI and automation to create meaningful business value.
• Work alongside operational teams to understand how work happens today, uncover opportunities and test new approaches with the people who will use them.
• Turn complex and ambiguous business challenges into clear strategies, business cases, transformation portfolios and roadmaps.
• Redesign processes and operating models around how people and AI work together, including where human judgement is required and the implications for roles, responsibilities and skills.
• Use data and insight to assess opportunities, quantify value, prioritise investment and define measures of success.
• Work with consulting, data and AI engineering colleagues from discovery through delivery, using rapid experiments and prototypes to test assumptions, refine business cases and determine what to scale, change or stop.
• Help clients move beyond proofs of concept and isolated pilots towards scaled adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Build trusted client relationships, identify emerging needs and shape new opportunities for Valcon.
• Develop Valcon’s AI transformation propositions, methods, thought leadership and consulting capability.

Role overview

• A senior consulting role working with executive and operational stakeholders to identify where AI can make a meaningful difference.
• Shapes AI strategy, business cases, transformation roadmaps and the organisational changes required to deliver value.
• Works alongside consulting, data and AI engineering colleagues from the outset, rather than handing strategy over to delivery teams later.
• Brings depth in business transformation, organisational change, process and operating model redesign, adoption and value realisation.
• Connects what AI can technically do with how organisations actually work, ensuring experimentation leads to practical transformation and measurable outcomes.

Experience

• Strong experience in management consulting, business transformation, AI strategy and/or digital transformation, with a track record of leading complex engagements and advising senior stakeholders.
• Practical experience applying AI to business problems, rather than only theoretical knowledge of AI strategy.
• A strong understanding of GenAI, agentic AI, automation and data, and how these capabilities can create business value.
• Comfort exploring AI tools, testing ideas with technical colleagues, and understanding the capabilities, limitations and dependencies that shape what is achievable.
• Able to structure ambiguous problems, develop compelling business cases and translate technology into clear business implications.
• Strong business transformation and organisational change experience, including process, operating model, workforce, adoption and value realisation considerations.
• Commercially minded, with experience shaping and winning consulting work and leading and developing teams.
