Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Consulting Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions for clients across public sector, finance, and regulated industries. You’ll work with stakeholders, architects, and platform teams to translate business problems into production-ready AI solutions, balancing innovation with governance and security.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering AI/ML solutions in enterprise or consulting environments.
• Strong Python development and data processing skills.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies and LLM APIs.
• Knowledge of ML lifecycle, data quality, governance and security considerations.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical & AI use cases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI and Data Science solutions across client engagements.
• Deliver Generative AI use cases including RAG, semantic search, and AI workflows.
• Apply ML techniques to structured and unstructured data.
• Evaluate, fine-tune, and optimise AI solutions for performance and cost.
• Translate business requirements into AI use cases and production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and Product Owners throughout delivery lifecycle.
• Support operationalisation of AI solutions via APIs and MLOps patterns.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior practitioners.
