Job summary

Hackajob Ltd is seeking an AI Solution Architect in the UK to lead customer-facing AI deployments on the Azure stack. You will guide a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, align with senior stakeholders, and own end-to-end architecture from design to rollout.

You will drive AI patterns, ensure effective integration with client systems, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with evolving AI technologies and Azure services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering production AI solutions across varying challenges.

• Hands-on Python and public cloud platforms (Azure) expertise.
• Experience deploying modern AI including LLMs, RAG, tool calls, on Microsoft AI stack.

• Ability to simplify AI design for non-engineers and document it clearly.
• Comfort working directly with customers and users, building relationships.
• Experience integrating products with customer systems and data sources; resolving rollout issues.
• Ability to manage multiple major projects and deadlines.
• Experience mentoring and developing team members; managing staff.

Responsibilities

• We will be the technical lead on customer engagements, guiding a team of Forward Deployed Engineers to deliver it.
• We will work directly with customers and senior stakeholders to understand business problems and desired outcomes, and agree architectural principles and strategic direction.
• We will oversee deployment, configuration, and integration of our products within customer environments, and resolve challenges during rollout.
• We will provide technical direction, support, and line management to a team of Forward Deployed Engineers, helping them grow.
• We will gather user feedback and translate customer needs into product improvements with Product and Engineering teams.
• We will create reusable deployment patterns and assets to speed future engagements.
• We will support customer adoption and value-realisation activities for lasting AI value.
• We will stay current with developments in AI, Microsoft technologies, and the Actonomy platform, sharing knowledge with team and customers.

Job description

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require proven experience leading the delivery of production AI solutions across different sizes and shapes of challenge, such as an AI service, a multi-team programme, a customer platform deployment, or a complex integration.
• We require experience acting as the technical lead on customer-facing projects, ideally deploying software products or platforms within customer environments.
• We require significant hands-on experience with Python and public cloud platforms, particularly Azure, including SaaS and PaaS offerings.
• We require hands-on experience building and deploying modern AI, including large language models and agentic AI, covering prompt engineering, RAG, tool and function calling, and orchestration, on the Microsoft AI stack such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure AI services.
• We require proven experience of technical ownership for an AI product or software project, including architecture, estimation, product planning, and user story or requirement creation.
• We require the ability to understand whole-solution architecture and communicate and negotiate it with senior and C-level stakeholders, including the commercial implications of design decisions.
• We require the ability to simplify and clearly communicate AI design in conversation, documentation, and presentations to non-engineers.
• We require comfort working directly with customers and users, developing relationships, and supporting account management.
• We require experience integrating products or solutions with customer systems and data sources and resolving technical issues during implementation and rollout.
• We require the ability to prioritise across multiple major projects, particularly when working to deadlines.
• We require a demonstrated ability in managing, mentoring, coaching, and developing members of your team and the wider community, including managing a small number of staff.
• Desirable: experience with React or similar technologies.
• Desirable: familiarity with the Microsoft agent ecosystem.
• Desirable: experience creating reusable deployment patterns and implementation assets.
• Desirable: experience working in consulting, customer-facing, or delivery roles.
